Project Associate Manager

About the Job

We’re looking for a Project Associate Manager to lead key projects across POS, e-Wallet, and payment systems. You’ll manage cross-functional teams, ensure smooth project delivery, and drive collaboration between product, engineering, and business teams to achieve strategic goals efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of project managers handling critical initiatives across POS, e-Wallet, Online/Offline Payment Gateway, and Internal Systems.
• Oversee project planning, tracking, and delivery for multi-functional programs, ensuring alignment with company strategy and business timelines.
• Drive stakeholder communication and reporting, ensuring clarity, alignment, and risk transparency across product, engineering, compliance, operations, and external partners.
• Implement project governance, process improvements, and delivery frameworks to increase execution efficiency and cross-team collaboration.
• Escalate blockers proactively and lead structured problem-solving to resolve project challenges in high-impact environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in project or program management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing project managers or complex portfolios.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale technology or platform initiatives, preferably in fintech, payments, or enterprise systems.
• Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, including POS, e-Wallets, payment gateways, settlement processes, reconciliation, KYC, and transaction lifecycle flows.
• Experienced in managing cross-functional teams within Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery models.
• Familiar with product development lifecycles, particularly in fintech, transactional platforms, or financial technology systems.
• Skilled in using software development and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Notion, Figma).
• Comfortable coordinating across engineering, QA, infrastructure/DevOps, compliance, and finance functions.
• Bonus: exposure to ISO8583, EMV, e-Wallet integration, or PCI DSS–compliant environments.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a proven ability to coach and develop junior to mid-level PMs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
• Highly adaptable, resilient, and comfortable operating in fast-changing or ambiguous environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Well-organized and proactive in driving multiple strategic initiatives at the same time.
• Industry background in fintech, payments, banking technology, or retail platforms. Experience managing merchant platforms, POS systems, wallet integrations, or financial operations tools is highly valued.
• Previous experience in startups undergoing scaling or enterprises running large transformation projects is a strong plus.
